Jane Snipes
Welcome to my corner of the job-search world—I’m so glad you’re here!
Hey! I’m Jane, and for more than 35 years, I’ve been helping people navigate their job search or manage their career. I’ve written five books on resume writing and job searching, reviewed millions of resumes and LinkedIn profiles, and coached thousands of professionals through their job searches and career management challenges.
I’ve seen firsthand how a job search can affect confidence, identity, and even a sense of security. Over the years, I’ve worked with people who were incredibly smart, capable, and hardworking…yet felt invisible simply because they didn’t know how to communicate their value on paper or in an interview.
My goal is to give you clear guidance and honest insight from the hiring side of the desk. No gimmicks. Just straightforward, practical strategies that work in today’s job market. I don’t just guide you through what to do…I explain the why behind it, so you can make confident decisions every step of the way.
I truly believe EVERYONE has a superpower; mine is helping job seekers find theirs. If you’re feeling uncertain about your next move, or you just want a smarter, clearer way to approach your search, you’re in the right place!

Resume Writing Tips
A polished resume can yield greater visibility and more interviews, and here are the answers to some common questions:
-

Does a resume HAVE to be just one page?
It does not! You are totally okay going to 2 pages.
-

Should I include an Objective?
It’s mostly a waste of space, so no. Instead, use a Professional Summary to highlight your top accomplishments and showcase keywords pertinent to your experience.
-

Do I only list the last 10 years of experience?
Nooo! You can totally go back 20 to 25 years. In fact, those screening your resume will absolutely welcome the additional information.
-

Do I list work experience that isn’t relevant to the job I want?
Yep! You surely do list all your work history. If you don’t, it’ll be a gap in your employment history. Plus, you never know how your prior work history can showcase skills and experience that are totally relevant to the company; you just don’t know it yet.
