BECOME AN EXPERT IN THE MUNDANE

Here's my advice to new college graduates and early-career employees:

FOR SURE, you will get bored out of your mind in your job, and you'll desperately want to bail and run screaming into the parking lot. But if you dig in and became an expert in the mundane, you will learn SO much. Most people think it's those mega-decisions that make a company successful. Actually, it’s mostly the mundane activity that holds the whole place together.

IGNORE the boredom; instead, volunteer for projects and those tasks no one else wants to do, and you will gain INVALUABLE experience.

Do TODAY what no one else is WILLING to do. In 10 years, you will be able to do what your peers CANNOT.
