Don’t use HEADERS or TEXT BOXES in your resume
Applicant Tracking Systems are programmed to assume your name will be the first two or three words on your resume.
If you put your name into the HEADER or a TEXT BOX, the ATS (especially the older ones) won't pick up your name in the upload process. Instead, it’ll pick up the first two or three words at the top of the main body of the document.
Pro-Tip 1: Make sure your name is listed at the top of the main body of text.
Pro-Tip 2: If you’re using columns, make sure your name is in the left-hand column. If you put your name in the right-hand column, the ATS may not pick it up.
