Aim for the 5!

Let's propose it takes 50 resume submissions to get a job offer. Statistically, if you only send out 2 resumes per week, it could take you about 6 months to land a new job. If you send out 5 resumes per day, however, you'll achieve 25 submissions in a week, and 50 in just two weeks! Since most interview processes typically take longer than 2 weeks, an offer may not show up at exactly the 2-week mark, but you'll absolutely have increased your visibility in the job market.

Sending out 5 resumes per day is a hard slog but, if you make it a basic building block of your workday, it'll keep you focused and feeling much more in control of your world. If you get to 5 p.m. on a Friday with no interviews or job offers to show for the week, you can still head into the weekend knowing you've sent out 25 resumes. And that is no small accomplishment!
