How NOT to Forget the Interviewer's Name
Interviewing is stressful so it's not unusual to have a brain-cloud moment and totally forget the name of the person you're talking to, especially if you're in a panel interview or being considered by multiple companies. Names and data points can all start to fuse together, which might result in that one instant of sheer terror when your mind goes blank and you can't even remember your own name, yet along the interviewer's.
To avoid this blip, if you're on a phone interview, write the interviewer's name and title across the top of your notepad. If you're on a video interview, write your note-to-self on a post-it note and stick it to the side of your screen. This is especially helpful if there's more than one interviewer in the meeting.
If you're onsite and in a panel interview, write down everyone's name on your notepad and write them in the order in which they're sitting. It'll just take a glance down at your notes for a quick reminder of who's who.
